Speed and signals

Over-speeding and jumping a red signal are among the most common reasons for a challan.

FAQ

Questions about traffic fines

Short answers about the penalty lists on this site.

01Why is there one list for a whole state?

The penalty data on file is kept by state. A city such as Mumbai or Bangalore uses the penalty list of its state.

02Are these the amounts I will actually pay?

They are the amounts on file and they can change. The amount on your challan notice is the one that counts.

03Can I pay a challan on this site?

No. Payment is on the official e-Challan portal. This site only shows penalty lists and guides.

04Where do I check a pending challan?

On the Parivahan e-Challan portal, with the vehicle number or the challan number.

05Do the pages show licence fees too?

Yes. Each city or state page also lists the central driving licence fees published by Parivahan.
